The 4 days double gorilla trekking in Bwindi provides you a lifetime opportunity to visit fully habituated gorilla families twice in just a single gorilla safari in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park will be your preferred destination for a double gorilla trekking experience. This park lies in the Southwestern side of Uganda, 8-9 hours’ drive from Kampala and protects an estimate of 459 mountain gorillas. Your trip to enjoy double gorilla trek in Bwindi begins and ends in Kampala or Entebbe.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Destination -Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Transfer to Bwindi from Kampala or Entebbe immediately after breakfast and briefing by your driver guide. A journey to Bwindi N/Park takes you through towns like Masaka-Mbarara and en-route, the area of interest will be the Equator crossing. Lunch at Igongo cultural center and if time allows, tour the Igongo museum to have insight into Ankole cultures then proceed to Bwindi.

Day 2: Track Mountain gorillas Bwindi

Have breakfast early morning, after, embark on a long day guided mountain gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Your day will take 2-6 hour of searching for endangered mountain gorillas and it covers one hour of close encounter, photography. Enjoy the refreshing air from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest while searching for your family of mountain gorillas. When you return, lunch will be provided and a community walk to interact with Batwa pygmies in the evening.

Day 3: 2nd trek to see mountain gorillas, Bwindi National Park

Following an early breakfast, you will join a group of other visitors once again at Bwindi N/Park offices for briefing. At 8:00am, you will begin a trek to interact with a new gorilla family assigned to you and expect to spend 2-6 hours with one magical encounter guaranteed upon finding gorillas. The rest of the evening will be for chilling back at the accommodation and the refreshing breeze from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest will treat well.

Day 4: Back to Kampala/Entebbe with stopover at the Equator crossing

Expect to rise up early, enjoy a hefty breakfast and later check out ready to meet Uganda driver guide for transfer back to Kampala or connect to Kigali. Driving back to Kampala lets you make a stopover at Equator crossing once again or Mpambire Drum Makers to discover how the African traditional drums are locally made. Crossing to Kigali involves driving through Katuna or Chanika border.
