Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi

You will drive to Bwindi impenetrable national Park after being briefed shortly by our driver guide that you will meet at the airport. This Park is located in Kisoro District and it will take you a 9 hours’ drive to reach the Park so you will have a stopover in Mbarara city for your picnic lunch from the local restaurant then you will embark on your journey to the booked lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking for the first time

Just after having your cup of coffee or tea with a heavy escort, you will either drive to Buhoma or Ruhija the northern sectors of Bwindi where you will be briefed by the ranger guide and then he will go along with you to the forest to help you allocate these endangered mountain gorillas. Trekking these gorillas will last from 1 hour to almost the whole day because the mountain gorillas tend to keep moving to look for food.

Though you will spend many hours looking for them, if you sight any gorilla family, you will only spend one hour in their presence as you watch them communicate, play, feed their young babies and groom each other among other behaviours. During this one hour, you will also be taking photos and then you will move back to the lodge for your lunch after your lunch you will get some rest as you relax your muscles for your second gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking for the second time

Your second gorilla trekking day in Bwindi will begin with a delicious meal in the morning then drive to the starting point for a briefing again from the ranger and you will enter the forest again to trek for these gorillas. Today’s experience will not be like that of yesterday because on this day, you will visit a different gorilla family with different members though the behaviours are the same you can find them may more interesting than the one you visited the last day.

You can have a look at some of the behaviours of the mountain gorillas you missed seeing in the other group and after your second-day gorilla trekking experience, you can head for the Batwa cultural experience in their communities or you can opt to do the Bakiga culture which is also interesting in its way.

Day 4: Head back to Kampala and lunch at the equator

Wake up in the morning and have your breakfast then your driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to Kampala. You will have your stop over at the equator located in Kayabwe where you will spend some time taking photos and you will also have your lunch from here. After all that, you will proceed with your journey to the airport in Entebbe and then fly back to your home country.
